Skoda
wrote to us during the month to confirm that, as we expected, our car had one
of the VW diesel engines affected by the emission test rigging scandal. It would need modification, but how, where
and when was not yet known. It would be
done at no cost to ourselves.
Roger’s
winter indoor bowls started at Littleton, and he also resumed short mat bowling
in the village hall. As a coda to the outdoor
season he again audited the club’s accounts.
On
Tuesday 20 we used Teresa’s loyalty voucher from the Lygon Arms spa to have
dinner in the Great Hall: as the price
of the table d’hôte has been reduced and hence the value of the vouchers, we
had to pay a small surcharge for the succulent fillet steaks we chose, but the
whole meal was excellently cooked and presented and the staff were friendly and
obliging.
On
Friday 23 we paraded for our flu jabs:
no queue this year so over and done within just a couple of minutes.
