February

A quiet month, with the winter weather continuing, but we did go to Oxford on Wednesday 3 to take Jay out for lunch to celebrate her winning a Nuffield Studentship.  Before lunch, we spent an hour in the newly revamped Ashmolean Museum – a most impressive facility, if a little difficult to navigate between the various rooms and displays.

On Friday 19, we had the annual bowls club dinner, with a change of venue – the Harvest Home in Greet near Winchcombe, well spoken of by some of our members.  It did not disappoint, providing excellent fare and a commemorative menu.  The evening ended with a short mass karaoke of sentimental classics, and a couple of ambitious numbers from our soloists, including ‘Any Dream Will Do’ from Joseph, which we all joined in with anyway.

Temperatures finally rose towards the end of the month and the snowdrops blossomed.
