November

Winter had well and truly arrived by the end of the month, with a week of very hard frosts followed by snow on Tuesday 30.

We continued to make regular trips to Oxford as Jay settled in.  The plumbing has now settled down, and we have had a proper TV aerial installed.  However, the all-electric hot water/heating system continued to be unsatisfactory – shower barely luke-warm, radiators slow to come on and all threatening to be very expensive.

Otherwise the flat has proved very convenient for shops, busses and her office – all the more so since she acquired a folding bike, which could be stowed neatly in her small hall.

She has also improved the lighting (as seen above) and improvised more effective curtains.

Back in Toddington, Roger generally played two or three games of bowls each week.  Fizzy passed its MOT.  Our Rover 45, however, has been losing coolant, which may indicate an expensive repair will be required before too long.
