March

On Monday 14 we had a morning in Evesham.  Our first call was intended to be for a new battery for the Fiat before passing it on to Jay, though we ended up booking a service instead.  We also had to visit the library, which had undergone a face-lift since our last visit, not altogether for the better we felt.  Books no longer seem to be the main focus of libraries; the non-fiction almost in its entirety had been moved upstairs, and one section was labelled ‘The World About Us’, a peculiarly unhelpful and general description.

After that we made a return visit to the Almonry Heritage Centre, which we first saw in July 2008.

On the way back we called at Morrison’s for petrol and lunch, as their fish and chips had been recommended by a bowling friend, and very good it was too.

Teresa visited Oxford several times, both alone and once with Helen and once with Roger.

She saw Jay skating – a new found hobby.

By the end of the month, although we had completed the formalities of transferring Fizzy to Jay, we were still puzzled by its intermittent starting problems, so it continued to sit in its garage in Toddington.  We had, however, bought that new battery in the end, and the local garage could find no fault.  Fingers crossed.

On Thursday 31 Teresa celebrated her birthday.  Her main present this year was a Pumpkin Pouffe from all of us (followed later by a birthday meal out in Oxford).
