A cold start to the month made the roads tricky for a couple of our visits to Oxford, but we escaped with very little snow so Roger’s bowls commitments were unaffected. On Friday 17 it was the bowls club’s annual dinner at the Beckford Inn, which we last used in 2009. A good turn-out and good food making for a successful evening.

On Shrove Tuesday 21, Teresa made pancakes as usual – they came out very well.

However, not so good was the small pork pie Roger intended to have for supper one evening – the filling had almost entirely gone missing apart from a piece about the size of a marble.

Teresa has tweeted her not too complimentary comments to Mr Tesco, but to date he has maintained an embarrassed silence.
