At
last warm sunny weather in the first part of the month – good as Roger’s bowls
commitments came thick and fast – but turning gloomy and wet towards the end of
the month.
Both
cars went into the local garage, Jay’s for a routine service, Rovy for attention
to one or two minor problems.
Unfortunately there was a horrendous accident at the garage the very
same week – caused, it is believed, by a car coming to grief on the loose
chippings on a recently resurfaced stretch of road. The car crashed on to the forecourt, killing
the driver and demolishing the petrol pumps.
Jay
stayed in Oxford most weekends to pursue her skating, which is coming on
rapidly, so we visited her from time to time, including another visit to
Nando’s for a spicy chicken meal.
