January

There was a little improvement in Roger’s condition, but, towards the end of the month, a turn for the worse meant he was suffering increasing discomfort and sometimes pain, scarcely leaving the house.  Another visit to the doctor was booked.

We also had unusually protracted colds, so Teresa also had a quiet month, with just a few visits to Oxford.  We did participate in the annual RSPB Birdwatch Survey, spending an hour logging avian visitors to our garden, but these were few and far between.

The middle of the month saw some significant snow, and, to add to the gloom, our broadband rates slowed to a crawl, before we lost our connexion altogether owing to a faulty socket.  Luckily, with no little thanks to Teresa’s persistent reporting of the problem, the data rates through the exchange were restored to normal, and she got the faulty socket repaired.
