April

On Friday 4 we bought compost, gro-bags, seed potatoes and tomato plants in order to make a start on our gardening, already a bit late, but the cold start to the month would have held things back anyway.  The following Friday we ticked off another long overdue task and cleaned the car for the first time since the autumn.

On Thursday 10 Roger played his last indoor bowls of the winter season, both at Littleton and short mat.  The outdoor season began with the opening of the green on Sunday 13 – a beautiful sunny day, and even the still cold wind abated for our two hours on the green.  Well over fifty members turned up for the occasion.  After the bowling, the usual bring and share tea did not disappoint, rounding off a very good afternoon.  Regular bowling began the following week and Roger mowed the green for the first time on Thursday 17.

Teresa started her next course of skating classes on Tuesday 22, when we also met Jay briefly for lunch.
