November

Not a great month:  the weather, while not yet wintry, was generally dull or wet or windy, and often all three.  And, individually, we all suffered from health problems of one kind or another, which meant we were happy to take things easy.  Teresa enjoyed her Irish dance classes until an ankle injury forced her to rest.  She also continued to tackle the piles of no longer needed possessions around the house:  she discovered that some things found ready buyers on eBay, but the procedure of advertising, packing and posting was quite time-consuming.  Roger had to cut down on bowls, having felt unwell for some weeks, but a visit to the doctor was generally reassuring:  he ended the month monitoring his blood pressure daily in case changes were needed to his medication.

On Sunday 30 we went to Oxford to see Riverdance, making its 20th anniversary tour.  Helen joined us from London.  It was a rousing performance with something for everyone – plenty of dancing, especially Irish for Teresa and Jay, but also routines from other traditions, including Russian and flamenco, for Helen, while there was plenty of fiddling for Roger.
