May
On
Thursday 7 we voted in the General Election, but did not stay up to see the
results coming in. The exit polls had
shown that a change of government was not likely, and, as usual, were proved
right.
Our
summer routine established itself:
regular bowling commitments for Roger, several visits to Oxford with Jay, as well
as regular trips to and from the station.
On Saturday 16 we attended a short ceremony in Oxford at which Jay was awarded her MA.
The
weather for the most part was cool and changeable. Roger got several soakings on the green, and
heavy rain during the late Bank Holiday
weekend affected the Winchcombe Music and Arts
Festival. The lunchtime outdoor jazz
event on Sunday 24 for which we had tickets was cancelled, but later in the day
Teresa and Jay enjoyed the Gloucester
Music and Song event, led by the violinist Michael Bochmann.
