On Saturday 13 we went to the local Stanway Fete, in the grounds of Stanway House – a glorious sunny day, and very busy as a consequence.

There were stalls and games, and a particularly gallant (considering the heat) troupe of (lady) morris dancers, who gave several shows during the afternoon. Unfortunately this year we had no luck in the raffle.

On Thursday 18 we went to Oxford to see the Bill Kenwright touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which we have seen several times before over the years, and always enjoy. The cast, of course, changes, and new choreography and business is added.

On Saturday 27 Teresa joined Helen in London and thence to Stansted for a week in the States riding the railroad from Chicago to San Francisco. Teresa plans these trips and makes the all the bookings herself – quite a feat. They returned safe and sound on 5 August.

Roger, meanwhile, was kept very busy with bowls. Also, more prosaically, underwent his annual dental check-up with no work required – always a relief.
