The Rides

Most popular this year was Air.  As hotel guests we got an early start and Teresa and Jay could ride at the front – much the best experience (see left)

But they missed out on Rita – too busy – so on the first day their scary rides were Nemesis and Oblivion

But their favourite, on which they started and finished each day was the Runaway Mine Train

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (left) follows Around the World in Eighty Days and Toyland Tours on an indoor boat ride.  The final experience in the lift is well done, but it is otherwise no match for its predecessors

Our visit to Cred Street would not be complete without a few rides on the Carousel (right)

The old Haunted House now features the competitive game Duel – shooting up the ghosts and ghoulies with a laser gun

Teresa and Roger played (near right), Roger repeating his victory of last year, but he seems to have emerged rather worse for wear (see far right)

Our long time favourites are the water rides

Teresa and Jay seem to think they’ve escaped the worst (below) …

... but there’s another drenching to come

And we all enjoy the Congo River Rapids as evidenced by Roger (below)

The Battle Galleons and their water cannons are not the most popular attraction but Teresa and Jay are prepared to set sail

Ship ahoy!

They man the defences

The ‘chairoplanes’ or Twirling Toadstools are higher and faster this year at a new location in Cred Street

This does not deter our intrepid duo

Jay prepares (near right) before they fly high (far right)

Our final afternoon is spent on Old MacDonald’s Farm, a gentle experience aimed mainly at the younger children

We read the Book of Adventure before entering

We enjoy a river ride, the aerial monorail of Squirrel Nutty and, of course, our favourite tractors (right)
